Talent

As part of our bespoke aftercare service, Lagonda Studios offers expert talent, training and education consultancy from our in-house specialist, to ensure that each studio is facilitated with world-class crew members. Education and training are vital to the film and television industry, not only to ensure that new generations of filmmakers are equipped to take up the torch, but to keep pace with the demands of this exponentially increasing sector, to bring fresh ideas, and to widen the diversity of local, national, and international talent. We work with training providers, educational institutes, and employers to create home-grown talent, linking our education, training, and apprenticeship schemes to career opportunities within the film sector to ensure that our students are provided with the necessary skills to succeed in the industry. Our fit-for-purpose educational and training programmes comprise a wide variety of specialisms, including:

  • creative writing
  • script writing
  • film score composition
  • idents creation
  • prosthetics
  • postiche
  • hair and makeup
  • costuming
  • prop creation
  • stunt coordination
  • set building
  • carpentry
  • electrical engineering

As well as world-class instruction in these areas, our educational and training programmes include mentoring; masterclasses with industry specialists; summer industry boot camps; skills and training events; training and industry job fairs; and open days.

Inclusivity and diversity are a core part of Lagonda Studios’ approach. We proactively target those who would otherwise be unable to enter the film and television industry or those who are consistently underrepresented across it, including those from socially and economically disadvantaged groups, young people who are otherwise unlikely to progress into further education or training after leaving secondary school, and those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Giving back to local communities is also at the heart of our talent, training, and education plans. Our place-based approach both capitalises on and fosters local talent, bringing new skills and opportunities to communities. As well as working with local educational centres to deliver programmes introducing students to and promoting educational and employment opportunities within the world of film and television, we create local task forces, maintain local screen supplier directories, and deliver communication campaigns to ensure that local talent remains in the local area, and to foster and sustain strong relationships between each studio and its local community.
